Typography is, quite simply, the art and technique of arranging type in your design.

Kerning means adjusting the space between characters to develop a harmonious effect.
Kerning is used to adjust the distances between letters to avoid character collisions and irregular spaces It creates a uniform typographic texture large type must always be kerned by hand—default values from kerning tables will not work.

Futura
Bodoni
Bickham Script Pro
Frutiger

Leading is the vertical distance between the lines of type. If there is rich text in your design, in order to make it comfortable to read, use leading greater than the font size used. Normally it is 1.25 to 1.5 times of the font Size.

Using grid helps you a lot in formulating the layout of your design. If you use the best font, spacing and colors but the layout is not good then your design will be distorted and hard to understand.
A pattern or structure made from horizontal and vertical lines crossing each other to form squares.
